I was born in San Diego, CA, but have spent 30 of my 32 years living in the suburbs of Chicago.

I write and record everything you hear in my songs. I play every instrument, write all the lyrics, and do all the recording, mixing, and production. I started learning classical piano when I was 8, and then started teaching myself guitar at 11.

I grew up playing in a band called Paradigm from 2001-2011, where I was the guitarist/lead singer. We recorded and released a bunch of albums, EPs, and we played hundreds of times around the city of Chicago. It was with this band that I cut my teeth on writing songs and playing live.

In 2010, I joined Black Canvas, a band started by Paradigm drummer Jack Essenburg and Hotel Ahead frontman Matt Murray. Two EPs were released and we logged dozens of performances around Chicago, opening for some iconic bands, including Lovedrug, The Appleseed Cast, and The Felix Culpa. As of late 2014, Black Canvas is on hiatus, but you can still hear our music. Click on the "Links" tab at the top of your screen.

I started recording my own solo music in 2005/2006. I have since released 6 full-length solo albums and one E.P. which you can hear in full here or on my bandcamp page http://nateleslie.bandcamp.com. I will keep pushing my songwriting and musical abilities to the limit, all while being a husband, father of 3, and a blue-collar working man.

I like eating tacos and making fart jokes.

Yes, really, nobody hacked into my page to write that here.

Thank you for listening.
